David's Restaurant

David's Restaurant has occupied a Victorian townhouse at 62 Warwick Road in Carlisle since it was founded by David Wilson and David Humpston in March 2000. Chris Austin joined as head chef in 2002 and took over the restaurant when the two founding Davids retired in 2010, retaining the original name. The kitchen builds seasonal menus around Cumbrian produce, with dishes such as scallops and lamb served across an a la carte and set-menu format in a single dining room setting. Austin lives above the restaurant, running it as a standalone, chef-owned business rather than part of a wider restaurant group. The restaurant marked twenty-five years of continuous trading on St David's Day 2025, having built its reputation on the same Warwick Road site throughout.
