Andrew Sach spotted the potential in an empty shop on Preston Street that had stood for years under the sign of Furlong's, a former barber, and with Martin Brenchley-Sayers converted it into Faversham's first micropub. They tested the idea as a pop-up during the Faversham Hop Festival in 2014 before opening permanently on 18 December that year. The pub is independently run, with four rotating cask beers drawn mainly from Kent microbreweries alongside a changing selection of ciders, wines and gins. Inside, drinkers sit at wooden benches and solid tables in an air-conditioned room; outside, a covered garden holds picnic tables. Trading hours are longer at weekends, from midday on Saturdays and Sundays, shorter on weekday afternoons and evenings.
