Kafe Bloc is an independent café and bistro on Sheep Street in Kettering's Cultural Quarter, opposite the Alfred East Art Gallery. Owner Tony Bagshaw opened the business in December 2012 after deciding to change his working life. The kitchen produces homemade cakes and daily specials alongside a full English breakfast, and the counter stocks loose-leaf teas, freshly ground coffee, Snowdonia cheese and bread baked for the shop. The room has a quirky, informal feel, drawing on British and Mediterranean influences for its food. Kafe Bloc has built a following among regulars over more than a decade of trading from the same address. It opens Tuesday to Friday from nine until four, and Saturday from nine until two, closing on Sundays and Mondays. The café takes dine-in, takeaway and delivery orders.
