The museum occupies a Hall Street building in St Helens town centre, constructed in 1881 for the town's horse-drawn trams and used for steam and electric trams, trolleybuses and motor buses until 1985. The museum society leased it in 1986; a failing roof closed it in 1994 and it reopened in 2006. Open Saturdays and Sundays, 10am to 4pm, £7.50 adults. The oldest vehicle is a 1914 La France with a 14.5-litre engine.
