Ten Tun Tap House opened as a micropub on Alton's Westbrook Walk in March 2020, pouring four handpumps of cask ale alongside eleven keg lines of craft beer and cider, with a bias toward breweries from Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex. The pub expanded into two neighbouring units in 2023, adding extra drinking space and its own on-site brewery, Ten Tun Brew House, which now supplies collaborative brews back onto the bar. Garden seating looks over Market Square, and the pub hosts monthly quiz nights and occasional live music, staying dog-friendly throughout. It operates as a genuine free house, unattached to any pub company, with drink choices set by the owner rather than a supply contract. Step-free access covers the lower seating area, and Wi-Fi is available for anyone settling in for the afternoon.
