The MillCafe

Mark and Emma opened The Mill Cafe in Lamb Yard, off Bradford-on-Avon's town bridge, in 2022. Mark spent two decades in hospitality, most of it as a chef, before the couple took on their own kitchen; Emma runs the front of house. Breakfast runs until quarter to twelve, followed by lunch through the afternoon, built around full English plates, sandwiches and cakes baked on site, with coffee supplied by Dusty Ape, roasted in nearby Hilperton. Every Monday morning the cafe sets aside two hours for Chatty Cafe, an open table where anyone can sit down and talk to whoever else turns up, no booking required. Dogs and families are welcome throughout the day. The yard sits just behind the high street shopfronts, along the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath, drawing a mix of locals and passing walkers.
