Kevin Gauld's workshop on Work Road, St Ola, established in 2007, hand-builds traditional Orkney chairs alongside contemporary furniture. Oat straw for the chair backs is grown and dressed by hand before being stitched onto the wooden frame with a sail needle, a skill passed down through his family's woodworking history.
