Timbrell's Yard

Seventeen bedrooms above a riverside bar and restaurant on the Avon, run by the Stay Original Company — the small independent West Country group of half a dozen inns and hotels that also keeps At The Chapel in Bruton, each site trading under its own name and manner rather than a brand. The bar works around a log burner in winter and spills toward the river in summer, with an all-day kitchen behind it. The group raised growth funding in 2022 and has stayed exactly what it was: small, southern-western, and independent.
