Zara McLaughlin throws functional tableware at the wheel from her studio at the Acorn Business Centre in Ballymoney, making bowls, mugs, and jugs meant for daily use. The studio runs two public class formats: a pottery-painting session where visitors decorate pre-made pieces from a seasonal collection over tea and homemade bakes, and a two-part wheel-throwing course where participants make four vessels in one sitting and return weeks later to decorate the fired results at no extra cost. McLaughlin also hosts private parties and takes workshops out to venues across Northern Ireland. Finished pottery-painting pieces can be collected in person or posted out once firing is complete.
