Britannia House occupies a Victorian building on Station Street in Lymington, a two-minute walk from the quay, run as a bed and breakfast by its owner Tobias. He trained in five-star hotels, including the Kempinski, the Savoy and Chewton Glen, before settling in Lymington to run three individually decorated en-suite rooms under his own name rather than a hotel brand. Breakfasts are cooked to order each morning from locally sourced ingredients, offered as continental, a full English, or a combination of both. The house keeps to adults only, with a shared lounge, kitchen and courtyard garden for guests to use beyond their rooms. It has been shortlisted for the AA's Friendliest Bed & Breakfast award and holds the AA's 4 Star Gold rating.
