Rhiannon Welsh Gold Centre occupies the same premises on Tregaron square that jewellery designer Rhiannon Evans opened in May 1971, with the aim of introducing Welsh and Celtic art and craft traditions to a wider audience. The workshop remains in continuous use: visitors can watch jewellers at the bench making pieces in Welsh gold, silver and pewter, many drawing on Celtic knotwork and imagery from the Mabinogion. Over five decades the family-run business has grown to include an art gallery and a Celtic Art Museum displaying genuine ancient artefacts alongside the original showroom. It remains a single site rather than a chain, run by the family who established it. Pieces range from wedding rings to one-off commissions, produced on site rather than bought in for resale.
