Southport BijouCinema

Southport Bijou Cinema is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit community interest company screening films from a single 75-seat auditorium on Post Office Avenue, just off Lord Street. The programme mixes new releases with classic films, independent cinema and world cinema not otherwise shown in Southport. The auditorium is fitted with a raked floor, an 8,000-lumen digital projector and 5.1 surround sound, and there's a ground-floor bar serving drinks and coffee alongside a first-floor lounge used for events. In 2023 the cinema won the Community Impact award at the Merseyside Independent Business Awards and was named Leisure Venue of the Year by Southport BID. Run entirely by volunteers, it depends on ticket and bar sales rather than a parent company, and screens several showings most days of the week.
