Tempted Cider Company was founded in 2009 by Davy and Janet Uprichard, and is registered at 2 Agars Road, Lisburn. Davy began pressing apples using methods learned from his father, Jim, before turning the hobby into a commercial cidery producing dry, medium, session and fruit-flavoured ciders under the Tempted name. The cider is made using dessert and Bramley apples from County Armagh orchards, and the company has won awards including a gold medal in the National Irish Food Awards cider category for its strawberry cider. Tempted is sold through off-licences and at beer and cider festivals across Ireland rather than from a dedicated shop. It remains a single family business rather than part of a larger drinks group.
