The Bookshop.Mold

The Bookshop in Mold has sold books on the High Street since 1981, and has been Caroline and David Johnson's since not long after — Caroline managed it under the founders, then took it on with her husband, and they have kept it going through four decades that closed most shops like it. It is a real general bookshop: several thousand titles, chosen and shelved by people who read, in the county town of Flintshire. It works with the independent-bookshop networks rather than the giants, and runs to the prize shortlists and the local readers. A town bookshop of over forty years' standing, which is its own quiet achievement.
