Carnlough · Antrim & the Causeway CoastSurveyed

The Glencloy Inn at 1 Bridge Street, Carnlough, began trading in 1857 as Pat Hamill's Hotel, a coaching stop for cyclists that is namechecked in the ballad Sweet Carnlough Bay for its ornamental horse trough outside. Ownership passed through two generations of the Black family before the Diamond family took over the single-site bar and restaurant in 1983, and they still run it today. The pub occupies a stone building on the harbour side of the village, serving Ulster fry breakfasts, seafood chowder and pints of Guinness to locals and passing traffic on the Causeway Coastal Route. Open fires, low ceilings and a public bar retain the layout of the original coaching inn. Carnlough's harbour and limestone footbridge sit a short walk from the front door.
