Kett's Books trades as Wymondham Community Bookshop CIC, a community interest company staffed by around twenty-two volunteers in the shop and another twenty supporting behind the scenes, after the town raised the funds to open a bookshop of its own on Market Place. It stocks new fiction, non-fiction and children's titles, and was named 2024 Independent Bookshop of the Year, recognition for a shop that runs without paid staff. Regular book clubs, author talks and events for readers of all ages are held in the shop, which occupies premises at 11 Market Place in the centre of Wymondham. Profits are reinvested in the shop and community events rather than distributed to shareholders, and the model has been cited elsewhere in Norfolk as an example of how small towns can keep a bookshop trading.
