Kingstone Brewery was founded in 2006 at Whitebrook by Ed Biggs and Ed Popham-Holloway, moving to its current site at Meadows Farm in Tintern the following year. The four-barrel plant hand-brews and hand-bottles unfiltered, unpasteurised, bottle-conditioned ales under head brewer Mark, drawing on the Wye Valley's monastic brewing history near Tintern Abbey. Eight regular beers range from 3.8 to 5.8 per cent, including Kingstone Gold, Challenger Ale, a stout and Humpty's Fuddle IPA, sold through the on-site shop, Meadows Farm Shop and selected local outlets. Visitors can book a brewery tour, called a Brewtour, or call in for a free tasting when the tap room is open. The brewery avoids filtration and pasteurisation throughout, aiming for a fuller flavour and finer bubble than mass-produced cask alternatives.
