Out ofTime Records

Out of Time Records has traded from the same shopfront on Fore Street, near the Ipswich waterfront, for decades, and is now the only secondhand record shop remaining in Suffolk. Owner Chris Mortimer stocks vinyl, CDs, DVDs and seven-inch singles across punk, metal, rock, jazz, blues, hip hop, reggae, soul and funk, with particular depth in music from the 1960s through to the 1980s. Mortimer buys collections directly from customers, and has noted a shift in recent years towards younger buyers seeking vinyl, alongside long-standing customers who still prefer CDs. The shop is reached along Fore Street, one of the older streets running down towards Ipswich's historic Wet Dock. Out of Time Records is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5.30pm, and closed on Sundays.
