The Ferry Inn stands on John Street in Stromness directly opposite the ferry terminal, and is run by Karen and Gareth Crichton, who also own the neighbouring Royal Hotel and Garden House Rooms in Kirkwall. Cask ales from Orkney Brewery and Swannay rotate on the bar alongside single malts, gins and rums, and the kitchen serves local seafood in the dining room behind. The pub reopened in spring 2022 after its kitchen and rooms were refurbished, and now has twenty en-suite rooms plus an annex, Harbourside House, across the street. It hosts an annual folk and blues festival and regular live music through the year, and the bar opens from half past twelve daily. CAMRA lists it among the harbour town's regular cask-ale pubs.
