The GlassMenagerie (Kirriemuir)

The Glass Menagerie on Glengate in Kirriemuir is a working studio-shop run by glass artist Beth and leatherworker Andy. Beth began making stained and fused glass during the pandemic, producing memorial pieces, keepsakes and jewellery, some incorporating ashes or fabric from a loved one's clothing, drawing on her earlier background in costume design. Andy makes belts, bags and key fobs from full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather, along with repairs, having started after struggling to find affordable custom kit for historical re-enactment. Both crafts are made on the premises and sold from the same small shop floor. It is a genuinely two-person operation rather than a stocked gift shop, with commissioned and bespoke work forming much of the trade.
