Free house on Cooper Street with a Tudor-revival facade built in the 1870s, on a site recorded as a pub since 1715. Fourteen hand pumps rotate cask ales daily alongside real cider and a whisky and gin selection, with a first-floor Tower Lounge hosting live music on most Saturday evenings. Named Merseyside and Cheshire CAMRA Pub of the Year in 2023.
