Andy's Records

Andy's Records is an independent vinyl and CD shop on Northgate Street in Aberystwyth. Andy began running a record counter inside a local instrument shop in the mid-1980s and took over the business outright in 1986, opening under his own name in premises he still occupies. The shop stocks new releases alongside a large secondhand vinyl selection spanning rock, electronic, pop, hip-hop and folk, with regular arrivals of traded-in collections and rarities for crate-diggers. Andy serves behind the counter most days, offering recommendations and taking part-exchanges. The shop caters to Aberystwyth University students and long-standing local collectors alike, and has traded from the same stretch of the town centre for close to four decades. It remains a single-site, owner-run operation with no online-only competitor pretensions, relying on walk-in trade and word of mouth.
