ARTISAN the MakersShop, Chagford

ARTISAN the Makers Shop opened in August 2023 on Chagford's town square as a community interest company set up to give local artists and makers a retail outlet, after its founders identified a shortage of places to sell work in the area. The single shop at 68 The Square represents more than fifty makers from across Devon, stocking ceramics, textiles, leather, wood, metalwork and glass alongside paintings and prints, with items made in limited quantities using traditional techniques. Trading as Artisan (Chagford) CIC, it operates on a not-for-profit basis, with proceeds supporting its maker members rather than outside shareholders. The shop is open Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 4pm, closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
