Bristol Pottery Workshops runs from a studio on Walton Street in Easton, led by Berni Vinton, who holds an MA in Ceramics and has taught for more than twenty-five years. Classes are kept small and cover wheel throwing, hand building, raku firing and glazing, running from two-hour taster sessions through to longer weekly courses for beginners and improvers. Children's sessions and private group bookings, including hen parties, are also offered alongside the regular class timetable. Berni teaches every session personally rather than delegating to other instructors, and each class is structured so that participants leave with a finished or fired piece rather than just an introduction to the wheel. The studio's location in Easton, away from the city centre's larger craft venues, keeps groups small by necessity as much as design.
