Fishponds Pottery

Fishponds Pottery was set up in 2019 by husband and wife Finola and Max Thomas on Ridgeway Road, converting a workspace into an open-access ceramics studio with a firing service for other makers. Alongside membership and desk hire, the studio runs taster sessions on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons that introduce hand building and wheel throwing in a single three-hour block, plus longer beginner courses in throwing, hand building and glazing for those who want to keep going. Four wheels are available per session, and tutors give each student full use of a wheel rather than sharing time slots. Masterclasses and a throwing clinic serve people who already have some experience, and gift vouchers let newcomers try a session before committing to a course.
