Norfolk Guest House has been run by the Thomas family on Gloucester Road for more than thirty years, occupying a house that looks out over Horfield Common at the northern end of the road. It offers six en-suite rooms in single, double and family configurations, each with tea and coffee making facilities, television and free Wi-Fi, and includes a continental breakfast of cereals, meats, cheese, yoghurt, fruit and toast in its room rate. The guest house sits among the bars, cafes and independent shops that run the length of Gloucester Road toward Bishopston, roughly two miles from the city centre, and is aimed at budget-conscious visitors rather than business travellers. It operates independently under its own name, distinct from the family's separate serviced-apartment venture, and continues to be run day to day by members of the Thomas family.
