The Lyons Den opened in May 2019 in a former charity shop at the eastern end of Regent Street, Kingswood, when Sam Powell converted the narrow unit into one of the area's first micropubs. A simply furnished bar runs along one side, leading to a small rear snug that has since been expanded to seat more regulars. Three or four cask beers, up to five kegs and several real ciders are chalked up on a retro screen behind the counter, with guest taps changing often and local breweries taking over the lines for one-off events. There is no piped music beyond low background sound, card payments only, board games on the shelf and a welcome for dogs. The pub operates on an independent lease rather than through a national pub company.
