Butterfly Guest House occupies an Edwardian building on Mary Street in Porthcawl, around 300 yards from the beach and the town's bars and restaurants. It is family run, and reviewers over recent years have named Teresa and Clive, and previously Rebecca, among those hosting guests day to day. The eleven bedrooms range from standard doubles to a deluxe super-king or twin room with its own balcony and a suite with a freestanding bath, each fitted with an en-suite, free wifi, a flatscreen television and tea and coffee making facilities; irons and dressing gowns are available on request. A continental breakfast is included, and rooms are stocked with Welsh cakes, biscuits and chocolates. Free parking is available outside the property, with further pay parking nearby. Room rates run from around £65 to £95 a night depending on room type, and bookings are handled directly with the family running it.
