Carys Boyle runs her ceramics studio from a garden building at Rhos Helyg in Waunfawr, on the edge of Aberystwyth opposite Penglais School. A ceramic designer and maker working mainly in British clay, she throws and hand-builds vases, tealight holders and personalised gifts for sale online and at a small popup shop, alongside two-hour classes that take up to ten people at a time. Sessions cover both wheel-thrown pottery and jewellery making, priced at twenty pounds a head and open to anyone aged six and over, with under-sixteens required to bring an adult. Jewellery pieces can be taken home the same day; pottery needs about a week to dry and fire before collection. The studio also runs private sessions for hen parties, birthdays and corporate wellbeing days, and will travel to venues across the county on request.
