Clience Studio

Clience Studio is painter Angela Lawrence's working studio and gallery beneath the clocktower on Castle Douglas high street. Lawrence established the business in Kirkcudbright in 2004 before relocating to the current premises in 2007. She paints oils and watercolours of the Galloway coast, the Western Highlands and the Lake District, with sea studies forming the core of her output, and visitors can often watch her painting at the easel during opening hours. The gallery sells original paintings alongside signed giclee prints and smaller gift items drawn from her work, and takes on commissions. Lawrence has exhibited with the Royal Glasgow Institute and the Royal Scottish Academy. The shop keeps reduced hours in January outside the main visitor season.
