Deli in the Square occupies a building on Strathpeffer's central square that renovation work revealed carries a shop sign from around 1870 beneath later layers, along with a joiner's note dated 1912 found behind a window frame. David Shields and Ann MacKinnon run the current business, which combines a deli counter, bar and restaurant in one space. The kitchen serves breakfast through dinner - toasties, soups, quiches, pizzas and burgers - using bread from Deas the Bakers and Cromarty Bakery, and the deli shelves stock local jams, preserves and honey alongside those specialty breads. The bar carries wines, beers and cocktails. Tables spread from the dining room out onto the square itself in good weather. The business describes itself as open seven days a week, with longer hours at weekends. It is a single site in the centre of the spa village of Strathpeffer, not part of any wider restaurant or deli group.
