The Dodbrooke Inn has stood at the top of Church Street in Kingsbridge for some two hundred years and has been a free house since 1987, run by the same licensees since the early 1990s. The arrangement is a plain division of labour: the landlady covers the bar and front of house, her husband cooks the home-cooked meals the pub is known for locally. A single bar opens onto a separate dining area and a courtyard garden with a covered smoking area, and the pub occasionally puts on a small beer festival. Regulars can expect Young's London Original and Sharp's Doom Bar alongside Draught Bass and a rotating guest ale. Food service runs weekday evenings from five, with a midday sitting added Thursday to Saturday and an evening-only sitting on Sundays.
