Harrison Brockington opened Gather in 2019 with fellow chefs Declan Wiles and Oli Rosier, the three having trained together at the Michael Caines Academy at Exeter College and spent a year running pop-up dinners before taking premises on Fore Street. The kitchen builds its tasting menus around what can be foraged or sourced within the county: hedgerow beignets, scallop with basil, quail, a Devon cheese course. A seven-course tasting menu runs to ninety pounds with an optional wine pairing, while a shorter prix fixe is served on quieter weeknights. Brockington was named a 2026 Roux Scholarship winner, recognition that has not changed the restaurant's scale: a handful of tables, open Tuesday to Saturday, lunch and dinner only. It remains, by design, a small operation built around one kitchen and three names.
