Gower Plant Centre occupies an eight-acre site off the B4295 outside Pen-clawdd, run by Paul and Gwendoline Fisher. Paul left a job at an atomic energy research site in Oxfordshire to take up horticulture full time, and in the nursery's early years it stocked more than 2,000 varieties of fuchsia, a specialism that shaped its reputation before the range widened into shrubs, alpines, geraniums, hanging baskets and bedding plants. The site opens seasonally, March to September, daily from 9am to 6pm. Staff grow much of the stock on site rather than buying it in, and offer advice on planting for coastal Gower conditions. Parking sits directly outside, and the centre has traded from the same North Gower address for decades, serving Penclawdd, Llanrhidian and the villages beyond.
