Lakes BrewCo

Lakes Brew Co began brewing in March 2021 at premises on Kendal's Mintsfeet Industrial Estate, founded by Matt Clarke, Michelle Gay, Steve Ricketts and Paul Sheldon after redundancies at the start of the pandemic; the four had previously worked together at Hawkshead Brewery. The site houses a 16-hectolitre brew kit and a canning line alongside a taproom bar, making it a single-site operation producing, packaging and serving beer from one building. Within five months of opening, the brewery won a Gold and two Silver medals at the Society of Independent Brewers regional awards, and took Branding of the Year at the National Brewers Journal's Brewers' Choice Awards 2021. The taproom serves a changing range of cask and keg beers brewed on site, drawing visitors from across South Lakeland.
