Mainly Books is a small antiquarian and secondhand bookshop on Eton High Street, across the bridge from Windsor, opened in 2022 by Russ, a former accountant who took up bookselling after leaving his previous career. The shop holds around 3,500 books, ranging from £2 Puffin paperbacks to antiquarian volumes priced at over £2,000, alongside old maps, prints and documents. Stock is sourced from auctions and house clearances across the country as well as locally, with selections made on personal judgement rather than a fixed buying list. The shop trades Friday to Sunday, reflecting its focus on browsing customers and collectors rather than passing weekday trade. It occupies a single small premises with no other branches, with stock-picking and pricing kept in the hands of one person.
