Manorhaus Ruthin

Manorhaus is a restaurant with rooms and a small gallery on Well Street in Ruthin, opened in 2002 by Gavin Harris, an architect, and Christopher Frost, a musical director — the same two owners ever since, which shows in the coherence of the place. The cooking is careful and local, held in the Michelin guide for well over a decade; the rooms are individually designed; the walls carry changing art. It is the kind of independent, design-minded restaurant-with-rooms that a small Welsh town does not usually get, run by people who plainly care about how it all fits together.
