Mari Thomas started making jewellery in a small workshop at her parents' home in 1998, and now runs her gallery from the three-storey Georgian building that was once the Old Castle Hotel on Rhosmaen Street. A working jewellery workshop sits inside the gallery in full view, where visitors watch Mari and her fellow qualified jewellers cut and set the pieces on display. The gallery also handles bespoke commissions and offers free cleaning and inspection for jewellery bought elsewhere, regardless of where it was originally purchased. It opens Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, closed Sundays, with shorter bank holiday hours. The Grade II listed building gives the business a permanent home after its move from that original family workshop.
