The Memo Arts Centre occupies Barry's Memorial Hall on Gladstone Road, a building opened in 1932 as a memorial to local people who died in the First World War, funded by public subscription and a donation from the Davies family. Now run as a registered charity, it is the largest multi-arts venue in the Vale of Glamorgan and the only cinema in Barry, screening current releases and specialist films in a 4K digital cinema. The main auditorium seats several hundred and hosts live theatre, music, comedy and community events, and the building also offers hireable spaces and a programme of workshops. As a charity-run venue it depends on ticket income, hires and support alongside its programming. It sits just off Holton Road in central Barry, within reach of the town's shops and transport, and operates year-round across cinema and live performance.
