Pitney FarmShop

The Walrond family has farmed Glebe Farm at Pitney, near Langport, for more than two hundred years, converting to organic methods in 1999. Pitney Farm Shop opened on the single site in 2002, selling organic beef, pork and lamb reared on the farm alongside Somerset turkeys, geese, chickens and ducks, and homemade streaky bacon and chipolatas. A market garden supplies organic vegetables sold in the shop and used in the adjoining Pitney Farm Cafe, which opened in 2017 and serves brunch, lunch and cakes made from ingredients grown or reared on site. In 2024 the farm's market garden managers, Adi and Rita, were named Young Organic Growers of the Year. The shop opens Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4.30pm, closed Sundays and bank holidays.
