Andy and Zoe Arnold-Bennett started distilling gin in their garden shed in Ulverston in 2016, moving three years later into The Old Calf Shed, a former livestock building on North Lonsdale Road that gives the distillery its name. Batches are still small enough to be finished by hand, and the pair run tasting sessions and a make-your-own-gin experience alongside the core range, which includes a traditional-strength gin, a gin elixir and a gin marmalade. The site sits a short walk from Ulverston's market square, and the shift from shed to shed is one the Arnold-Bennetts still mark on the label of every bottle they produce.
