Paul Mills opened Soundclash on St Benedict's Street in Norwich in 1991, after a spell at the legendary Backs Records, and it is now the longest-established independent record shop in the city — and among the oldest in the country. It sits in the Norwich Lanes, the tangle of independent streets that give the city its character, and has kept selling records through every predicted death of the format, an active fixture of Record Store Day and the local scene. A proper independent record shop of over thirty years' standing. Go in, dig, and talk to someone who has been doing this a very long time.
