Winbirri Vineyards was established in 2007 by Stephen Dyer on twenty-five acres of countryside at Surlingham, six miles east of Norwich, becoming one of the first dedicated wine estates in Norfolk. His son Lee Dyer, who trained in viticulture at Plumpton College, now leads the winery, where six family members are involved across pruning, harvesting, pressing and bottling. All wines, including its Bacchus, are produced on site in a purpose-built winery. Visitors can drop into the Wine Garden on summer weekends without booking, or join a guided vineyard tour and tasting session led by Lee Dyer, running from May to August. A cellar door shop sells the full range direct from the grower, alongside cheese and charcuterie platters using Norfolk produce.
