The bakery at Churchtown has traded, by its own account, since 1905, and claims a place among the oldest in the country still baking on its original site. Nigel and Sarah, the couple who took it on in 2017, keep it a proper village operation: Cornish pasties — a vegan one included — outsize sausage rolls, sourdough and cakes, with fruit and vegetables from Churchtown Fruit and Vegetables and meat from R.E. Carr, both St Agnes businesses. A small café sits alongside, and the pasties post nationwide. Open from half past seven in the morning, Monday to Saturday, until three.
