The Brewer's House stands in Donaghmore, a few miles from Dungannon, in a building put up by Alexander Mackenzie at the end of the eighteenth century to go with the brewery he ran in the village from 1797. Head chef Brian McMonagle now runs a hundred-seat restaurant behind the bar, sourcing from named local suppliers including Cloughbane Farm Shop in Pomeroy, and the pub has revived Mackenzie's brewing tradition with its own microbrewery producing house ale on site. It won Best Gastro Pub and Best Wine Experience at the Irish Restaurant Awards in 2018, with McMonagle taking Best Chef the same year. Food service runs from late afternoon through Thursday evenings, extending to lunch from Friday to Sunday, with a Sunday roast served at midday.
