The Castle Inn sits on Church Road in Caldicot, opposite the entrance to Caldicot Castle and Country Park, in a building CAMRA records as around 300 years old. The pub is split between a lounge/dining room and a separate bar built around a large open fireplace, with a beer garden and children's play area to the rear. Real ales share the bar with a food menu offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, served through lunch and into the evening. Dogs are welcome throughout, with water bowls left out for visiting pets. Opening hours run from midday to 10pm Sunday to Thursday, extending to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. It remains under long-standing local management, run for years by the same landlord and landlady.
