The Wheatsheaf Inn stands on the square in Magor village, just off junction 23A of the M4, run by Clare and David Hennah as a family concern for close to two decades. The 70-cover pub splits into a restaurant serving food made from local produce, a lounge for drinking, and a separate Tap Room public bar with darts and pool for a more traditional side. A quiz runs every Sunday at 8.30pm with prizes, Monday nights are given over to poker, and live music plays at weekends. Food service covers lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday and a shorter Sunday sitting. The Hennahs run the pub as a free house rather than through a brewery tie, and it functions as a meeting point for the village alongside passing trade from the motorway junction nearby.
