The Grange occupies a Georgian building on Rottingdean's green, run by the charity Rottingdean Heritage under gallery director Samuel Lung. Inside, a library sits alongside a museum and art gallery, with dedicated rooms devoted to the illustrator Edward Burne-Jones and the writer Rudyard Kipling, both former residents of the village. Changing exhibitions mix current and historic artists, curated by Michael Laslett, the museum's curator and archivist. A tea garden operates behind the building through the summer months, serving cream teas to visitors after they walk the galleries. The Grange opens Wednesday to Saturday mornings into the afternoon, and Sunday afternoons, closing entirely between exhibition changeovers. Admission supports the charity's wider work conserving the village's buildings and archive.
