Velarde

Velarde occupies 86 Fore Street in Kingsbridge, a near-derelict three-storey building that Matt Velarde and Fi Wallace Velarde partly demolished and rebuilt before opening the gallery in July 2023. Matt worked as a fine art photographer and Fi as a painter and printmaker before starting the business together, and both still practise alongside running the space. The gallery shows paintings, sculpture, ceramics and prints by established and emerging British artists, including work by Peter Randall-Page RA, and includes an outdoor sculpture garden behind the building. Exhibitions rotate through the year, aimed at both first-time buyers and established collectors visiting the South Hams.
