Britsail

Britsail is a friends-and-family-run RYA training centre based at Kip Marina in Inverkip, running a full ladder of sailing courses on the Firth of Clyde. Principal Deborah Gulliver, an RYA Yachtmaster Ocean instructor, leads a programme that starts with Essential Navigation and Start Yachting and climbs through Competent Crew, Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper to Yachtmaster Ocean, mixing shore-based theory with practical time afloat. Courses run from the marina's pontoons out into the sheltered cruising waters around the Cumbraes, Bute and the sea lochs, water long used for teaching because of its variety and access. It operates from the single Inverkip base rather than a national chain of centres, keeping class sizes small and the approach personal. Alongside formal qualifications it offers taster sails and skippered experiences for people wanting time on the water without committing to a full certificate.
